Jenny Mitchell

Jenny Mitchell is a Canadian actress, screenwriter, and executive producer with an extensive career spanning more than two decades in film and television.

With more than 30 screen credits to her name, Jenny has worked across a wide range of genres and productions, bringing her versatility and depth to both dramatic and comedic roles. Her television credits include The Stand, Supernatural, Riverdale, Travelers, Motive, The Romeo Section, Rush, Dead Like Me, Da Vinci’s Inquest, and The Story of Us. Her feature film credits include Colossal, No Men Beyond This Point, Stan Helsing, No Clue, and Canes, among many others.

Jenny has also built an impressive résumé working in television movies, appearing in productions including A Sugar & Spice Holiday, Love in Store, For Better or for Worse, A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story, Final Days of Planet Earth, and Beauty’s Revenge.

Beyond performing, Jenny has expanded her career into writing and producing. In 2020, she established Party Seven Productions with the goal of developing original film and television projects, and she is currently developing several features for television.

Jenny brings this wealth of professional experience into her work with young actors. Having spent years working on professional sets and navigating the realities of the entertainment industry, she understands the importance of strong acting technique, preparation, adaptability, and confidence in front of the camera.

As an instructor at Vancouver Young Actors School, Jenny works with students across a variety of age groups, from young performers discovering acting for the first time to developing actors looking to strengthen their on-camera skills.

Her goal is to create a fun, supportive environment where students can take risks, explore their creativity, and develop the confidence and practical skills they need to succeed, both on camera and off.

The most integral part of the intensive that I've been left with is a sense of community. Sometimes the world of film and television can seem intimidating, but with a good arsenal of friends, mentors and colleagues, I feel empowered, and enthusiastic. At VAS, my community supported me everyday, and acted as though my future success as an actress was an absolute. We learned from one another, and grew, and I feel stronger, and confident as a result. The land of Film and TV doesn't seem so intimidating anymore, because not only has the intensive instilled me with a great foundation of skills to keep me grounded, it's also given me a great community of people to help support me in my continuing journey...
